Key Activities

 

Sales and clients

  • Provide personalized travel consultations to customers traveling to Japan via online, phone, email, and in person, to understand and meet their individual expectations.

  • Create high-quality, tailor-made itineraries based on the travel needs and preferences of clients.

  • Work alongside the sales team to achieve sales targets and close deals.

  • Collaborate closely with the operations team to ensure seamless internal reporting and process adherence.

  • Craft and deliver unique, high-quality proposals and travel documents, ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Follow up with customers in a timely and professional manner to close deals and manage post-sale service.

  • Handle invoicing and payment monitoring for clients.

  • Work as a key team player, ensuring smooth transitions and handovers in cases of absence.

  • Share responsibility for Emergency Duty within the team (24-hour availability).

  • Take on other reasonable tasks as needed.

 

Planning and development

  • Assist with translations related to product development and website content.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to prepare for travel fairs, promotional events, and campaigns.

  • Participate in travel fairs, promotional events, and other local activities to enhance company visibility.

  • Contribute to product development

  • Continuously improve your knowledge of travel destinations, particularly Japan, and share insights with the team.

  • Participate in workshops and inspection tours, contributing to the collective destination knowledge of the team.

 

Outcomes and KPIs

  • Consistently achieve individual and team sales targets

  • Consistent high conversion rate of active leads to bookings with high client satisfaction and a minimal level of complaints and errors.

Job Requirements

Knowledge/Skills

  • Previous sales experience in the travel industry, ideally within a travel agency.

  • In-depth knowledge of Japan and other Asian countries.

  • Excellent communication skills to build and maintain relationships with both clients and colleagues.

  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office.

  • Native Dutch speaker.

  • Fluent in the local language and English; Japanese language skills are a plus.

  • GDS skills, with Amadeus experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with invoicing and financial processes.

 

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the travel industry, with a focus on B2C sales.
