About the Business / Function

Focused on authenticity and experience, Japanspecialist is a one-stop-shop for Japan travel. With decades of experience designing bespoke trips to Japan, we have recently launched our online travel consultancy service with a clear mission to provide access to up-to-date information and expertise, even if the client doesn’t end up booking the trip with us.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Travel Consultant - Sales to join our dynamic and global team. This position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in travel and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace. This role is a target-based, fast paced one, which requires you to be a travel consultant, understand the customer’s travel needs and expectations and thereon, create high-quality, tailor-made itineraries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide travel consultation for customers travelling to Japan or to other destinations via phone, email, and in person to identify their individual expectations
  • Create high-quality, tailor-made itineraries based on travel needs
  • Input of customer’s necessary information in quotation sheet
  • Creation and delivery of unique, high-quality proposals and travel documents
  • Follow-up with customers in a timely manner
  • Invoice and Monitor payments from customers
  • Participation in travel fairs, promotional events, and local campaigns & activities
  • Provide sales insights for the production of package tours (FIT or Guided tours) to the operation team
  • Participating in workshops and inspection tours and share destination knowledge within the team
  • Keeping up to date with latest destination information

Job Requirements

To Succeed in the Role, You Should Have:

  • Minimum of 2 years in the travel industry in sales in B2C market.
  • Extensive knowledge of Japan. Preferred to have knowledge of other Asian destinations we sell.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in local language (Dutch) and English. Fluency in Japanese would be preferred
  • Strong technical skills for MS Office and GDS system, preferably Amadeus
  • Experience & understanding of invoicing.
