About the role

As per immediate entry or upon agreement, we are looking for a Trainee DMC - Hotel Procurement Team Switzerland (Workload 100%).

Our Destination Management services form the core of our business. Together with our destination experts, our sales and account management teams generate business by partnering with our customers (Tour Operators, Travel Agencies) to shape exciting itineraries suited to their travellers’ needs. We take care of everything from ground support, hotel bookings, sightseeing, restaurants, and local guides; all while providing 24/7 customer support so that travellers from over 50 countries can enjoy memorable travel experiences worry free.

This is a full-time on-site role for an Intern or Trainee located in Zürich. The Trainee will mainly support Hotel Procurement but may also assist Hotel Reservations or land services procurement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Procurement services for mainly German Speaking Switzerland applying the company’s market-leading procurement strategy and guidelines

  • Gaining proficiency on company systems (DOS / QUOS), to cooperate with neighboring teams

  • Support activities to ensure rate competitiveness of portfolio (in line with market rates and set KPI targets) and take corrective measures in coordination with supervisor

  • administrative support in writing special / exclusive agreements with key suppliers (override deals, marketing contribution)

  • assisting in monitoring market trends and product innovation which should also be reflected later in product development

  • helping out in constantly looking for new product ideas and maintaining strong relation with key suppliers

  • Assisting in the promotion of new products/hotels towards our Sales Team and regularly setup calls to share destination trends, product ideas and potential new itineraries to promote

  • Ensuring that destination knowledge is transferred to Operations and Sales teams

  • Supporting the promotion of our internal online “partners portal” and e-billing tools to increase the use of those tools

  • Supporting in administrative tasks as required

  • Having an awareness of business risks and mitigate them together with the team

  • Ensure all business activities comply with relevant financial, legislative, legal demands and ethical standards of the organization

  • Duration: at least 6 months up to December 2026

Job Requirements

Knowledge

  • Qualified degree (BA) in Travel/Tourism or Business Studies

  • Knowledge of Swiss Culture and Switzerland as a destination (essential)

  • understanding of the travel industry and market requirements

  • Good technical skills in Microsoft Office – Word/Excel/PPT

  • Fluent in German and English - any additional language is a plus

 

Skills

  • Very organized, able to prioritize tasks

  • Ability to work under a lot of pressure

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various teams (with regards to language, as well as to cultural differences)

  • Team spirit, ability to work within a group

 

Experience

  • Previous experience in travel industry/customer service (desirable)

  • Experience in working with various IT programs used in travel industry
