Job description

As Sales Manager Meetings & Events you will be responsible for the development and performance of key accounts within the source markets Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Key Activities include

  • Increasing our market share with sustainable business opportunities within the defined source markets
  • Follow-up on sales activities, research markets for new clients and client opportunities.
  • Budget responsibility for the financial performance of the assigned source markets and the set tasks and financial targets outlined in the goals
  • Identifying marketing and Sales activities
  • Improving our market positioning and brand awareness within the source markets and the clients
  • Co-ordination of sales activities undertaken in the area by the DMC staff. 
  • Support of DMCs when necessary in retrieving out standings from clients or solving possible issues.
  • Participation in networking organisations like SITE/MPI or other locally relevant to ensure KDM is visible
  • Think and act in an entrepreneurial manner; demonstrate initiative by recognising and seizing opportunities, knowing the success-motivators in his/her organisation and putting them into action, weighing risk carefully and taking calculated risks
  • Come up with new product ideas and communicate with the superior about new business opportunities
  • Propose new potential destinations within Europe/worldwide or further development of existing destinations

Job requirements

  • Degree in tourism / business administration / marketing / event management
  • Experience in similar level position within the M&E or hospitality industry
  • min 5 years of Sales and Business development experience
  • Excellent network with high relevance to offered position
  • German mother tongue plus business fluency in English
  • Strong IT literacy
  • Extensive and profound Operations and process management skills
  • Extensive commercial skills and financially literate
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strategy development and implementation skills
  • Representation, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
