Our Destination Management services form the core of our business. As Project Manager MICE Switzerland, you will be responsible from planning stage, the offering process up to the execution of and event or project. You will work on a variety of programs simultaneously and serve as the day-to-day planning contact for each respective client and be responsible for the program planning functions, as well as overseeing all the aspects of complex MICE tour programs.
As part of the Swiss DMC Team, the role also entails close interaction with Overseas Sales and European clients directly.
You will report directly to the Business Director MICE Switzerland and will be in close touch with external suppliers e.g hotels, venues, logistic service providers, event organizers, tourism boards, catering, etc. and internal stakeholders from sales, operation and sourcing teams.
Job Requirements
Key activities:
Professional project management approach for the planning/quotation and production of the Inbound MICE or Premium activities for Switzerland from world-wide source markets
Producing and designing Incentive programs with the event management concept that requires detailed proposals (e.g. timelines, venues, entertainment programs, flow charts, logistical charts, coordination and staffing plans and budgets)
Oversee all aspects of the event execution coordinating suppliers, handling client queries and troubleshooting during the operation ensuring quality execution.
Produce pre- and post-event evaluations both with internal and external stakeholders
Accompany and lead clients for the critical site inspections and On-site project coordination
Sales activity within Switzerland. Acquiring new customers (domestic & worldwide)
Attending Trade shows as well partner events
Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to enhance event experiences.
Identify and develop new B2B opportunities, focusing on corporate clients and MICE agencies.
Build and nurture strong relationships with key accounts to drive repeat business.
Develop tailored proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals to meet revenue targets.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
Work closely with internal teams, including sales, operations, and finance, to ensure smooth execution.
Provide regular reports on sales performance, pipeline updates, and event outcomes.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and innovative event solutions.
To Succeed in the Role, You Should Have:
Proven track record in a DMC or working within the MICE industry in Switzerland
Good connection within the MICE network in Switzerland (Convention Bureaus, Suppliers, Tourist Organization)
Adequate level of experience in managing outside vendors, sourcing and negotiating relevant services
Fluency in German and English is a must, French or any other EU language would be of an advantage
Ability to identify customer needs and manage client relationships-establishing, developing and maintaining client trust and loyalty over time and through changes
Capability of problem solving-anticipating, initiating and resolving customer or vendor issues
Strong attention to detail and negotiation skills
Ability to think analytically, innovatively, strategically and conceptually
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Effective organizational and time management skills, with a strong ability to manage multiple projects and timetables
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to ever-changing scenarios

Minimum 3-5 years in Business Development, Account Management, or MICE Project Management.
Proven track record in B2B sales, client acquisition, and revenue growth.
Strong understanding of MICE, corporate travel, or event planning.
