About the role
Project Manager will be integrated in our congress unit in Barcelona. PM will be responsible for managing several congresses in Europe, Responsible of the project, operational site and invoicing process, involved in any sales actions supporting our housing congress department and in close collaboration with our congress units across Europe.
Job Description
Key activities:
Focus on operations tasks for Housing Congresses
Project Manager for the project acquisition by actively managing the incoming requests / Leads the project execution
In charge of the client relationship throughout the project life cycle
Select & negotiate appropriate vendors to supply all components of the congress
Get and stay in contact with Convention Bureaus and congress centers in Spain
Responsible for planning, coordination and performing sales activities for congresses
To help to cultivate and maintain the client relationship throughout the project life cycle
Develops client proposals together with Congress Managers in Europe
Oversees all financial matters related to the project
Builds, develops, and grows supplier and client relationships vital to the success of the business
Help closing Congresses and ensure this is done fast and reliable/accurate
Ensure open communication with stakeholders re. above
VAT application in Congress business
Job Requirements
Skills:
Profound education in the tourism/congress management sector
Extensive experience and commercial knowledge of the congress association environment, key competitors, industry issues and related technology
Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail
Excellent knowedge of EventsAir
Working in PCO business before
Good knowledge using IT tools like MS Office tools (especially Excel)
Experience using IT in front office systems and/or back office accounting systems
Industry-knowledge would be a plus but not mandatory
Proven ability to effectively build professional relationships and manage external as well as internal resources
Fluency in English and at least 1 other European language
Strong communication skills (speaking, reading and writing) & IT literacy
Problem solving skills
Complexity:
Successfully managing the financial tasks related to Congresses around Europe
Dealing with stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds
Meeting deadlines form hotel contracts, payments, and reports
As a person you need to be positive, open minded, able to quickly embrace changes and thrive in multitasking in a hectic environment with short deadlines
Fluency in English business language (speaking, reading and writing) is absolute mandatory due to communication across Europe
