About the role

As per immediate entry or upon agreement, we are looking for a Procurement Professional Destination Services (Workload 100%).

The candidate will be responsible for the procurement and product management of all land services for the German speaking part of Switzerland (restaurants, tourist attractions, cable cars, transport companies and others). It is key to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, tourism organization and industry partners to consistently deliver products that are suitable for our worldwide customer base. The person should be strong in setting up activities and creating packages and will be a member of our Destination Management Services Team, which forms the core of our business. They take care of everything from ground support, hotel bookings, sightseeing, restaurants, and local guides; all while providing 24/7 customer support so that travelers from over 50 countries can enjoy memorable travel experiences worry free.
This role is based in Zürich and reports to the Product Development Manager.


Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong destination knowledge towards the Swiss Market, including experiences/activities, seasonality and supplier landscapes to create competitive and sellable packages

  • Align Sales’ expectation (demand side) with destination trends (supply side) and constantly look for new product ideas and maintain strong relation with key suppliers

  • Promote new products towards our Sales Team and regularly setup calls to share destination trends, product ideas and potential new itineraries to promote

  • Ensure destination knowledge transfer to Operations teams and Sales team’s

  • Promote use of our internal online “partners portal” and e-billing tools

  • Full understanding of various systems usages (DOS/QUOS & new systems being introduced)

  • Ensure rate competitiveness of our portfolio (in line with market rates and set KPI targets) and take corrective measures in coordination with your supervisor

  • Monitor market trends and product innovation and reflect in product development

  • Participate in local trade shows and Switzerland related events (Ferientag, Swiss Travel Market)

  • Contract Land services for Switzerland (mainly German speaking) applying the company’s market-leading procurement strategy and guidelines

  • Reach special / exclusive agreements with key suppliers (override deals, marketing contribution)

  • Build and maintain relationship with local tourist offices and Swiss Tourism

  • Identify business risks and mitigate them

  • Ensure all business activities comply with relevant financial, legislative, legal demands and ethical standards of the organisation

Job Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have

  • Qualified education (KV) or degree (FH) in Tourism, Travel Business or Hospitality Industry

  • Fluent in German and English - and preferably a second Swiss language (French or Italian)

  • Ideally minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role

  • Ideally well-connected with regional tourism offices and/or other suppliers like mountain cable cars, activity providers, etc.

  • Solid understanding of the travel industry and Switzerland as travel destination

  • Proficient in all Microsoft programs

  • Any knowledge in Social Media, AI tools and others is an advantage

  • Proven ability to prioritize and qualify tasks and to work within a stressful and high-volume task environment

  • Ability to communicate on all levels and in a multi-cultural environment

  • Excellent problem-solving skills both proactively and ongoing

  • Proven ability to negotiate

  • existing work permit for Switzerland or nationality from an EU/EFTA country
