About the Business/Function:
Our Destination Management services form the core of our business. We take care of everything from ground support, hotel bookings, sightseeing, restaurants, and local guides; all while providing 24/7 customer support so that travellers from over 50 countries can enjoy memorable travel experiences worry free. As Hotel Reservations Coordinator you will work closely with all areas of Operations in a Destination Office with focus on hotels related activities keeping close collaboration with sales, procurement and local suppliers.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that bookings are confirmed or responded within the deadline, with the best achievable conditions
Ensure daily priorities, as defined by the supervisor or manager
Ensure priority list, check update and new coming tours
Resolve complex cases where a good supplier relationship is required, such as: pre-bookings, last minute bookings, bookings without valid contract, resolving of kick-outs, avoiding of supplier cancellation charges, dealing with hotel complains and problems, etc.
Negotiate rates, supplements, free pax policy, prepayments, and cancellation policy
Maximization of profit both by negotiation at initial booking stage and by renegotiation to optimize profit closer to arrival.
Reduce over-budget
Keep contact to key suppliers in close cooperation with procurement managers
Job Requirements
Requirements:
Professional hotel and tourism qualification or minimum 2 years working experience in the travel or hotel industry
Strong negotiation skills
Strong communication skills (written / spoken) in English and local language, fluent Spanish is a plus
Ability to communicate on all levels and in a multi-cultural environment
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-moving organization
Excellent problem-solving skills both proactively and ongoing
Ability to work within high-pressured environment
Strong delivery focus and a proven track record of implementing workable solutions
Ability to prioritize and qualify work
Good working knowledge of Microsoft program
Excellent attention to detail
Good communication skills
Team player
Solution oriented person
Ability to cope with different levels of stress
