Head of Finance - Denmark

Job description

This role will head up the Denmark Finance organization and an accounting service team in St. Petersburg, Russia. The Head of Finance will act as the representative of all finance functions within the existing legal entities in Denmark with a reporting line to the Regional Head of Finance (CE/EE/Nordics). The role will carry the responsibility for effective control and operation of the Finance & Accounting functions in Denmark.

  • Ensure maintenance of accurate and timely local finance ledgers
  • Ensure the period close, and reporting is timely and accurate (AX and HFM)
  • Ensure reporting is in full compliance with Group and IFRS policies and legal requirements
  • Ensure support on the preparation of robust annual budgets and periodic forecasts
  • Ensure that policies, procedures, and systems defined by the global finance functions are fully implemented
  • Act as the primary contact for finance/tax/legal topics to the local business and function heads and support where necessary
  • Overall ownership of Denmark cashflow and currency management in the region
  • Business partner for department heads
  • Raise potential financial, business, legal or other risks and opportunities proactively to global finance functions and regional/local business & function heads
  • Responsible for group and statutory audit process in Denmark
  • Responsible for preparation of financial statements for Denmark entities for statutory audit purpose
  • Assist with delivery of robust budgets, forecasts, sales outlooks, cash flows, treasury transactions (Hedging) and Corporate Governance.

Job requirements

  • An International Master’s Degree in Finance & Accounting or a fully qualified ACCA/CIMA or similar is required
  • Demonstrate strong technical accounting skills and understanding of accounting principles including IFRS, Danish TAX & VAT compliance
  • Ability to work in a dynamic business environment, previous experience in the travel industry is desirable but not essential
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office - especially Excel - and Accounting Systems
  • Timely decision-making skills

  • High level of independence, self-initiative and drive and a high level of self-motivation
  • Strong influencing skills, able to sway and manage stakeholders across a complex and ever-changing growth business

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting
  • Work experience in a dynamic, international matrix environment preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Danish is preferable
  • Strong project management skills with an analytical and well-structured working style with a strong understanding of figures and financials
  • Strong understanding of IT systems / processes and MS Office skills
