As an additional Team Member / Colleague to our current Destination Coordinator, you will be responsible for the successful performance of the MICE travel of international and particularly Asian customers from the beginning to the end. Working closely with Sales and other internal department stakeholders, you will also be responsible of supplier relationship management, presenting the creation of tailor-made concepts & itineraries to our international customers.
As Destination Coordinator, you’ll be involved in developing, planning, quotation and overall operational execution of high-level premium groups, complex and high-touch MICE projects (Group Travel) from all source markets. You will support in creating exciting travel experiences that combine culture, team-building, and entertainment and you’ll work with different teams to plan smooth, memorable trips while building valuable skills in logistics and customer service
Key Responsibilities
In General: understand client’s needs and expectations, liaising with sales to ascertain client’s precise requirements.
Sales
• keeping regular contact with suppliers and constantly finding new suppliers and new product ideas
• preparing professional sales tools according to Meeting & Events guidelines
• communicating with clients regarding quotations and professional offers and keeping up the contact, once an offer has been accepted.
• providing continuous after sales contact with existing customers
• keeping track of all pending business and all sales with regards to volume and profitability
• if requested, accompanying clients on inspection trips
• attending networking events to promote destinations, products and supporting the acquisition of potential new customers.
Operations
• performing operational activities for world-wide markets in the MICE segment (Meetings, Incentives, Congress & Events) as well as for leisure tourism business which includes sports and cruise business and manages the efficient and profitable operation of such projects.
• production and coordination of events (including road shows, product launches, Gala dinners, meetings, stage shows, etc.) and being on-site during these events.
• supplier and inventory management based on the Service Level Agreements and guidelines set by the company.
Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications
• Solid evidence of work experience within the MICE industry whether in DMC/ Agency or Hospitality companies (3-5 years)
• Bachelor's degree in Tourism, Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or related field preferred
• Fluency in English is essential, any additional Asian languages strongly preferred
• Ideally cultural knowledge/awareness in working with Asian cultures (Japan, China, Southeast Asia)
• Excellent project and time management skills
• Proficient MS Office skills
• Team player, team builder, ability to work both in group situations and as an individual
• Creative thinking for effective problem resolution
• Excellent at multitasking and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Permit to Work in Switzerland is required: Position is therefore only open for internal candidates with EU/EFTA nationalities
