About The Role:

Kuoni Tumlare is building a new global AI Lab and is expanding his team in Turin. You’ll work closely with the Head of AI (based in Turin) to deliver production-grade models and AI solutions across a global travel business—combining classic predictive modelling with Generative AI. The scope is broad, the mandate is real, and the impact is visible.

You’ll collaborate with product and engineering partners in London, Zurich, Prague and New Delhi, and ship models that improve revenue, automation, customer experience and much more. This role suits builders with an entrepreneurial mindset who like clear outcomes, fast feedback, and end-to-end ownership.

• Help us start up our new Turin AI hub.

• Own the full model lifecycle: frame problems with stakeholders, explore data, prototype, validate, and take models to production.

• Build predictive models (forecasting, classification, optimization) using Python and SQL, with solid experiment design and evaluation.

• Collaborate with top AI experts to Generative AI applications (agentic workflows, recommendations, chat assistants) and iteratively develop them together with the business stakeholders.

• ·Productionise: refactor notebooks into automated pipelines with CI/CD and a modern scheduler; version models, standardize features, and assess data quality

• Partner tightly with engineering on APIs, data architecture, monitoring, observability and deployment strategy.

We are Looking For Someone With:

• Education: BSc/MSc in Engineering, Computer Science/Informatics, Data Science (MS preferred), or another quantitative scientific field (Such As: Mathematics/Statistics/Physics)

• Strong Python experience for data science (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn; experience in deep learning or GenAI orchestrator libraries a plus).

• Write SQL and code that’s clean, efficient and explainable

• Solid statistics & ML fundamentals (feature engineering, validation, bias/variance, metrics).

• Data engineering experience turning notebooks into maintainable code and orchestrating reproducible pipelines with a modern scheduler.

• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience building & shipping models that drove measurable impact.

• Languages: fluency in English required.

Nice To Have:

• Ability to mix classical ML with LLMs/GenAI pragmatically (RAG, prompt/retrieval evaluation, guardrails).

• MLOps: MLflow, Model Registry, feature stores, Docker, orchestration (Airflow/Prefect), CI/CD.

• Cloud: AWS / GCP/Azure, object storage, serverless.

• NLP/LLMs: evaluation metrics (hallucination, toxicity, factuality), retrieval design.

• Travel/commerce pricing, demand forecasting, recommendations.

• Hybrid: Start fully remote; once the office is live in Turin, move to a 2-days/week in the office based on hybrid model

• Global collaboration: frequent work with London, Zurich, Prague, New Delhi. Occasional travel (eg once per quarter).
